Drawing Event in Chennai January 2025 – Part 2

On Saturday 4 January 2025, the CONNECT team from Hope Unlimited, in collaboration with DAXO Events, organised an event at the Action Aid office in Chennai, India. Ten children, in the age group of 5 to 16 years from marginalised backgrounds participated in a drawing workshop. The children could choose as a theme either ‘flowers’ or ‘people’. Not surprisingly, many children started with one theme and ended up drawing both themes! The afternoon did not end with the drawing competition. It continued with a delightful impromptu display of individual dancing talent by some of the children with the audience whistling and encouraging the dancers!

All 10 children received a certificate and a memento for their participation. In addition, three children received a ‘special mention’ certificate for their drawings. Hope Unlimited is also providing all 10 children with a one-time scholarship toward their schooling.
