No Sky No Life

When the skies are black

We look to the sky

I see the stars and the moon

The star is shining

And the moon is sleeping

The stars make me happy

The moon makes me sleepy

The star is my life

And the moon is my heart

And the sky is my family

When I see the skies

My life is changing

Poem by Meas Sopheak, 15 years, living in Cambodia.

The poem is a result of the workshop Creative Writing from the NGO Writing Through, one of the partners of CONNECT.
