Our sixth contribution is from Hong Yean from CAMBODIA.

Hello, I am Hong Yean, I am 13 years old and I am from Cambodia.

Who is your role model and why?

My role model’s name is Chantho and she is 40 years old. She is, in fact, my mother. She earns a living by begging. She is a good role model for me and takes good care of me. Even when she scolds me, she always explains why she does so, and teaches me how to know ‘right’ from ‘wrong’. When I do something wrong, she always guides me in a good way. My mother is a good person, she always shares her food with our neighbour, who is old and runs a small stall, where few people come. Although my mother struggles to make ends meet, she always buys me food to eat without caring about herself. So, my mother is a good role model for me and I would like to be like her.

One dream you wish comes true. State why.

I want to be an English teacher who teaches in different countries, especially in Cambodia. To become an English teacher, I need to understand parts of speech clearly. When we are not clear, we need to ask someone who can teach us. We also need to pay attention to the teacher. I want to be a good teacher because I want to share knowledge with the next generation and help others in our society. I also want to share knowledge with other children.
